Yeah, but the main problem that led to this however is the lack of clarity in the puzzle pieces (largely because of the gaps between them), cause these genuinely do look like what's depicted in the building, but it is apparently not the case, as this wasn't the solution.

I then find as many references as I can, both from the style I'm imitating and the (in this case) hairstyle I want
I use a brush that looks similar to the style's lineart.
After I finish the lineart, I fill any gaps in the background by copypasting and using the copy stamp brush-
