I wanted to balance her colours w Alhaitham and Kaveh, initially I was gonna have her be a witch like Mona but in the end I settled on making her a student at Sumeru Akademiya in the Haravatat school (main interest is in ancient languages)

I also did a piece for @grhmhmltn (Edward and Waike's) Interview!

I felt they would be able to connect over a casual conversation (like living/ serving a bougie lifestyle)

The original concept for BoBoiBoy initially has the powers come from the headwear the kids wear. Since Gopal back then was not depicted with any headwear, he was likely not meant to have powers. Whether Ying's cap not having eyes meant anything or not is a mystery.
