Pokemon was right next to Batman as the biggest bright spot in my childhood. One of my favorite thing to get nostalgic about by a mile. I couldn't be more grateful to have been a kid during the prime time of Ash and his adventures.

So, Liko is from Paldea, making her Hispanic, and Roy is from Kanto, making him Asian.

Can't think of an anime with a Hispanic protagonist before, we're sure they do exist, but that's neat regardless.

Also glad that Roy isn't typically "anime pale" but neither was Ash.
