most drawing applications should have the multiply layer, i believe that using it to shade rather than picking colors might help alot! it works on all skintones too so u dont have an excuse to avoid coloring darker skintones now if u see this!! >:3

Random tidbit, in the manga we learn that the country of Natlan which worships the Pyro Archon (fire god) has inhabitants who are of tanned skintone.
However it seems more based on indigenous America rather than darker skinned Asian. :)

Was going to keep her close in skintone to the original but I could barely see the highlights because I'm a blind ass, so I made her tan so I could fuckin see while workin'.
I then decided I liked it more so I'm keeping it.

The skintone for your child at all, so if you picked the darkest skintone and marry Amir or Sanjay, the game gives you a pale skinned child, blonde for a boy, light brunette for a girl
