“Scream, Queen! My Nightmare On Elm Street”

Last day of and I can’t believe I‘m barely getting to this doc.

I’m only six minutes in and I’m already getting emotional 😭 Nightmare on Elm St 2 has always been one of my favorites

Given that it's the anniversary of his birth (116th, not 104th, d'oh!), it seems appropriate to view a classic Peter Lorre film. So, "M" (1931).

Back To The Future Part II (how could we not after watching the first one yesterday?). Funny how they missed the mark on 2015 but the altered 1985 pretty much nails a lot about present day America. 🤔

Keeping this Verhoeven thing going with a visit to my good buddy RobertCop. Not just great satire, but also badass action movie that's one of the best ever made.

Haven't seen this in at least 20 years and back then all of the satire really flew right over my head. A fantastic send-up of ooh-ra military bullshit and a great spiritual successor to RoboCop. This movie pretty much rules.

Michael Arias’ TEKKONKINKREET. I’m super excited for this one. Everyone I know who has seen it says it’s amazing. Apparently the manga it is based on is utterly phenomenal. It looks cool, it sounds cool, it’s basically going to fucking rock!

Mamoru Oshii’s GHOST IN THE SHELL. Probably one of the most well know animes of all time. It’s one I watched countless times whilst growing up but after hearing Elon Musk talk about Neuralink symbiosis recently I need to revisit it!

Baffling that this movie is so underappreciated, but oh well. I love this far-reaching fantasy, the cast is great and creature design is on point.

Hayao Miyazaki’s LAPUTA: CASTLE IN THE SKY. This is one of only a few of Miyazaki’s films I haven’t seen yet and it was the first film that Studio Ghibli released when first founded back in 1985. It’s so good to be able watch it on Netflix now!

Possibly my favorite Cannon movie? I grew up watching this and always thought it was awesome. Now that I'm older? Damn right I still love it. Great cast and holy jeez Langella is next-level as Skeletor.
