Turquoise Spring
by Erin Hanson, 2022
OIL ON CANVAS
24 x 30 in

The rolling hills of northern California's wine country are captured in expressive brush strokes and vibrant color. The movement within the painting draws the eye and engages the senses.

I have a 2018 model, this is really not that old for a tablet. The new models have basically no upgraded specs. but the consistency is insane. This is me just slowly increasing pressure, steady strokes.

Starting the week with a splash of colour. 🎨💦

From thin, drippy washes to thick, textured brushstrokes, Joan Mitchell's energetic painting dances around the canvas. See the abstract work up close . 💙

My artist submission for the Ladies of Week 2️⃣ is the very talented
🌺🌼🌸

I love the soft strokes that collectively form something beautiful, and the way she so creatively works flowers into her pieces 🌹

I bought 4 to display her range 🖼️

For me, I just use the standard paintbrush at a 1.5 size. It all comes down to doing similar strokes as to if you were sketching with an actual pencil. Also these type of sketches take much longer to do so keep that in mind if you just want to quickly doodle something instead :)

🧵(1/4) When () showed me the 'Obliques', I immediately wanted to train this to machine learning. The AI does not understand sharp, straight and even angles, basically it reproduces everything in the form of strokes and smooth lines.

GM!

Whether you like AI or not, for me these textures is hard, if not impossible, to replicate with with a brush (irl or digital). It’s the way AI blends colours, make cuts, interpret my initial brushstrokes. A chisel don’t leave marks like a brush. AI is for me a way to paint.

Byakko

Byakko has matching short grey strokes and white hair with two bunches on the sides of her head, she is heterochromia, her left eye is yellow and her right eye is blue. She owns a confident smile.

Simplified emiko.
simplifying forms is a way of practicing poses right? I don't have much time to practice but I would like to practice this selfless style, the strokes feel so free...

I like turbulent brushstrokes 🖋

I’m thinking of making this one into a giclée print 🙏🏻 would anyone be interested? ✨

Mano paints with very loose brushstrokes, creating textures that are evocative of the expressionist's brushwork. The style really goes well with the unsettling themes of their work!

To expand upon what I mean, the fringe tool essentially creates an "edge" for your strokes. Similar to PS you can add edges to any shapes. However, these can also be used to creates boundaries with values.
This is a rough idea, but it works if you struggle using hard edges. https://t.co/t08Ph60Pxw

Tutorial of How to Dance Is This It (the strokes)

For me, doing it more patiently messes it up unless I'm doing an ancient/medieval style piece. If I go with broad brush strokes & letting the paint go all over the place it looks good.
