I’ll start a piece with intent to focus on one thing (slight upshot) and then suddenly foreshortening and two light sources and then I’m back at square 1 because I spread my focus too thin to do the first thing well.

I like breaking figures into shapes and silhouettes. It helps me to stop focusing on anatomy and to look more into the gesture and shape of the figure. And then from there, I can push the abstract shapes even more if I want. 😊
