Hi! I use the color pick tool all the time to make sur I'm interpreting color correctly, then I apply the new knowledge to new paintings.

This one was done by looking at about 100 different references and playing around with the color picker in each. Am I a hobbyist?

I loved my Judge Wallace so much I coloured it in with the MS Paint bucket tool.

My reference is usually past drawings where the same characters or similar ones appeared. Like, a palette is created once I have colored an scene in advance, I use the eyedropper tool in Photoshop, to copy previous skin tones, uniforms, I have colored before

But I have not been entirely unproductive. A fellow with excellent taste in power-tool-wielding knights gave me this chad lad to work with. He was an absolute blast, and a great chance to practice a lot of new things!

Though that this is still WIP, I wanted to show you how I do my shading in art.
its not something you can easily do with a traditional drawing tablet I dont think.

this is by using the Morph Tool in GIMP while using a Vertical Mouse as a drawing utensil.

Always improve!
