A monthly challenge for a discord channel, theme scarecrow + ! I tried a grayscale painting method for the first time : it’s been fun and (almost) effective, I’ll keep using it !

I was feeling a little bit down yesterday so I tried the gray scale method(?) of coloring akskjs i probably did it all wrong but it was still pretty interesting ╥﹏╥)
Also, consistent art style? i don't know her (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ

For example, I'm mostly use 20x20 pixel for each box as a scale... and try to sketch first(like for illustrating)
and then remove the scale by replacing the colors and start cleaning the lines u made
and then do the rest such as coloring and shading(probably the basics)

Jaw-dropping detail of storms on Jupiter. While the precise scale is unknown, the Earth likely fits in the round white storm, and the smaller white puffs are about the size of large thunderstorms on Earth.

I do a lot of drawing for my comics(although it'll be a while before the pages get shown in full publicly)

I also take time to finish some illustrations both for fun(since my comics are greyscale but the illustrations aren't) and to have things to post beside comic updates

Here's a slight update, I went and upscaled the Bridget art and fixed the sharpening for the art. So this should be a much higher res version.

Jackson Jackalope Jr., aka J3 (The Episodic Escapades of Jackson Jackalope Jr. He is basically a living, rubberhose cartoon character that was granted free will, and he might be my most powerful main protag? But the villains he scales against are also super powerful lol)

"oh shit" if our sizes are scaled up to be an even match
"thank god" if they're tiny bug sized and i can just squish them with my fingers

Here is a textured Drawing Commission of the World Serpent Jormungandr, the God of War version. This was drawn up as a tattoo design, so I really wanted to make sure to get all the details right. Though those scales nearly ended me. lol... https://t.co/fRyCVU0E4x

my kaede akamatsu drawing from yesterday, I accidentally ended up making it too small so I had to upscale it, there's the original on the right for reference.
