Emil Nolde (1867-1956) Anemones in a Blue Vase (c1935) & Amaryllis & Anemones (c1930) & Two Anemone Flowers (nd). That Nolde was a great Expressionist is clear - however it’s hard to enjoy his work when you know he was a card carrying Nazi member.
Raoul Dufy (1877-1953) Anemones (1937), Anemones (1953) & Anemones (1949). Dufy had a sketchy relaxed style of painting & this is readily apparent in his studies of the flower. They are the essence of 1950s French style.
I drew @zelk_vore 's character! I think her name is Anemoi.
She looks very cool, and her body can change to allow her to devour prey in many different ways! I really like her.😊
She was fun to draw, too!
Been a while since I’ve drawn anything Vanessa related.

By artist Santiago Caruso, one of the best Azathoth illustrations I've seen. The hairlike frills near the top resemble some aquatic life, perhaps a sea anemone or underwater vegetation. The overall impression is ghostly and deeply alien, in a way different than most depictions.
“Anemones”, 35X45cm, oil on board.

19/20C biologist/artist Ernst Haeckel, coiner of the term “ecology”, created these vivid depictions of sea anemones, jellyfish and hummingbirds (1904, from his book ‘Art Forms in Nature’)
