Let's take a minute to appreciate how amazing Samus looks in !

I wonder what the armor will look like by the time we reach the end of the game...

People often complain that Samus Returns didn't have enough enemy variety, and sometimes that's met with the counterpoint that they didn't have enough source material to draw from

So here's all the critters in Metroid 2 that weren't used in Samus Returns

Metroid II: Return of Samus, re-made on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems as Metroid: Samus Returns in 2017, included ‘Chozo Memories’, featuring new details & art regarding the Chozo history on Planet SR388. How might they link back to

The Chozo encountered by Samus earlier is not the general from the Chozo Memory, he is actually one of those who supervised the creation of the Metroids. We can see a 3D flashback of the events of SR-388 depicting him trying to escape with scientists.

[What we know about Metroid Dread so far]

First and foremost: Samus' suit is still the Fusion Suit, but it started regenerating back to its original Fully Powered Suit form, hence the new shoulder pads, chest plating, lights, and disappearance of a lot of organic parts.

Kiara just chilling and gaming on her Switch.

(Also, might be hard to tell, but the game she's playing in this pic is Super Metroid, something she should totally play on stream at some point. Come on Kiara! Stream Metroid!)

AM2R

My first time playing AM2R and I was blown away. This game is a love letter to the franchise and has its own unique identity amongst the original game and Samus Returns. This game looks and feels so fresh, yet still retains the heart of a classic Metroid game.

Metroid Dread is almost out, so I wanted to make a thread summarizing my recent experiences with the series! I'm revisiting some of the games from my childhood, but some I'm experiencing for the first time this year.

The infant metroid has a simple body shape similar to a jellyfish. Perpetually floating in the air, the organism appears and behaves relatively docile, though it is known to be highly unpredictable at times and can bite without warning.

A lil' late but Happy 35th to these deadly, yet adorable galactic-level threats.

And funny enough, I actually had a little crossover commission done by with Jenosa and his version of Samus. I'll admit, there are times I fanfic inside my head about these two actually meeting, largely due to their mirroring personalities, but...
