2018 vs 2022!
I know it's a compliment when people say I'm "talented," but it really is so much about practice and intentional improvement, and finding what works for you!

Just saw the hashtag and I love it, because yeah. Art is a skill that needs work to be developed.

Here's my first attempt at a digital sketch with some shading vs. one of my recent ones.

Not really a redraw but same 2 charas from 2019 vs 2022.
Also tbh there's ppl with talent, something they're born with, but it has to be honed, & also yes, you can become skilled with practice.

Practise, practise, practise and yet again practise. Art is a skill only gatekept from those who can't be bothered to learn it, and it's up to you to chose if you are one of those people or not

Oh I love this hashtag! Yeah, doing 150 studies this year is my way to get to really good "before and after" comparison posts and to document my argument that I wasn't born with the skills. It was work, and then more work after that.

I have heard many times from people that my ability to draw is a talent, and not my own skill that I have been sitting for years and working out day after day.
no.
it's not a talent.
