So this is a kind of deep cut easter egg that I don't see talked about too often, but Rick is actually named after Rick Sheridan, the human host to Marvel's Sleep Walker, which is a favorite of Kirkmans.
He was actually set to write a new SW book when he was writing this!

Work Sucks 259 -
Chapter's kind of a mess as I was trying to figure out stuff pacing wise and stuck to standalone pages for a bit. Zeppy's redesign was fantastic to me, however. Never made sense that a floating whale had legs. The world also started getting more stylized.

I can't find decisive word on who designed vyrn but art books kind of imply hideo minaba did, or finalized it after others iterated on it and like, you're telling me the same person that designed vivi finalfantasy designed vyrn granbluefantasy???? THAT'S TOO MUCH POWER
