Here's the Penny Girlfriend animation slowed down, to better explain.

Each number is a new frame. Sometimes they're spaced out by 2s, sometimes by 1s. By alternating between the amount of frames, I can reduce the number of drawings, while keeping the motions readable and clear.

Using rough math based on how this GIF of Pico spinning his gun is only three frames, assuming that there are twenty-four frames in a second, and presuming the size of the subwoofer's speakers, I found that Pico is spinning the gun at 33.7 meters per second, or 75.4 mph.

Custom animations like this need pixel perfect study of the sprites, so I've learned a few things, like how much stuff gets reused as standard, and Max has some REALLY creaky frames, ie his shrivelled arm in the elbow drop and chop and totally misaligned head position in the spin

Because of these frames, it sometimes seems to me that I'm not reading a teenage drama/thriller, but some kind of body horror. However, this approach to drawing emotionally tense situations is amazing. This perfectly conveys all the emotions of the characters.
