J. Paul Getty Museum have acquired Jacopo Bassano's "The Miracle of the Quails" dated to 1554 rarely been on public display. We've researched a very fine contemporary version of"Adoration of the Shepherds"which compares well to lesser versions, presently attrib. to son Giralamo🧑🎨

Superb Getty acquisition, "The Miracle of the Quails" by Jacopo Bassano, 1554. Commissioned by Domenico Priuli as a pendant to "Lazarus and the Rich Man," 1551, Cleveland Museum of Art. The painting has hardly been accessible to scholars and was never seen by the general public.

Portrait of a man playing a virginal, Francesco Traballesi, 1554 - 1570.
Bought by the precursor of the Rijksmuseum as early as 1823; I wonder as by whom. Not loved enough to repair the split in the panel. Never ever seen it on display. Wonder if it's a fragment?
