Maxfield Parrish was born in Philadelphia in 1870 and died in New Hampshire in 1966. Norman Rockwell called him "my idol." This is 'Sheltering Oaks' from 1956.
Many claimed that #DeGrazia could only paint children and angels. This inspired him to paint a collection titled "DeGrazia Paints the Bullfight” in 1966. In the bullfighting scenes, the artist always tried to portray sympathy while siding with the bull. Happy #ThrowbackThursday!
