I love this Exercise, in my classes students explore these same Albers’ concepts using ink blot designs. Thanks for sharing 👍🏽

She’s been shown!!! I’ve been super excited for Rell as she’s my first base splash! I learned a ton, and finally got work with my friend Justin Albers too. I hope u all like her ❤️

For my 72nd sketch I'm inspired by the textile work of Anni Albers. Anni came to the Bauhaus to study furniture design but, as a woman, was forced into weaving. She developed a style of hard-edged pattern, and was one of few women to take a leadership role https://t.co/0loF2gUJql

Julian Stanczak (1928-2017) was another student of Josef Albers, studying art at Yale after graduating from the Cleveland School of Art in 1954. The genre itself took its name from Stanczak’s 1964 solo exhibition “Optical Paintings” in NYC.

A little fun. An early sketch from the rework. Had a great time jamming on this with Justin Albers for a short bit before I headed over to LoR. A huge belated congrats to Albers and the team for turning the ol’ yeti into something amazing!
