Robert McCloskey, author & illustrator of books like Make Way for Ducklings & Blueberries for Sal, was born #OTD in 1914. He won two Caldecott Medals. McCloskey said that he got tons of letters from folks around the world sending him photos of ducks crossing a street.

Probably at least once a week, I think about how @heybilljoyce deserves a #CaldecottAward more than anyone I can think of, but for some inexplicable reason it never happens. The fact that he hasn’t received one deeply undermines the credibility of the @ALALibrary ‘s awards, imho!
