Currently waayy too derivative, but I'm messing around with a different Wormmon armour design. With the round shapes of the Egg of Kindness I was thinking of a kind of boxer look, and with overlapping heart plates to evoke the egg design and also a bug's carapace.

Another group are the hymenocarines. These have mandibles, and thus, are probably either stem crustaceans or stem mandibulates (crustaceans and myriapods). We know some of them were already carrying their eggs below the carapace and could also attach to each other in conga lines.
