Ehretia acuminata チシャノキ、ムラサキ科の落葉高木。萵苣(チシャ)とはレタスやサラダ菜などのこと。若葉の味がレタスなどに似ているらしい。また葉や樹皮の様子が柿の木に似ていることからカキノキダマシなんて別名もある。高知県と福岡県には天然記念物に指定されるほどの巨木がある。
