Jean de Lauzon, sénéchal de N.-France, est tué lors d'un raid iroquois à l’île d’Orléans. On retrouva le corps du sénéchal couvert de blessures et décapité. Sa tête avait été portée en Iroquoisie comme trophée. Ce drame contribua à l'arrivée du rég Carignan-Salières.
