Day 7: Qianzhousaurus for #DINOCHALLENGE. Drew inspiration for this long-jawed Tyrannosaurid #dinosaur from toucans. #PaleoArt
and since we are talking tyrannosaurids what about your favorite tyrannosauroid
Sooo... I finished watercolor work! This is drinking Qianzhousaurus sinensis, long-faced tyrannosaurid, also known as "Pinocchio-Rex".
And now I’ve gone and done a tyrannosaurid, #Lythronax argestes.
This is a WIP & there are inaccuracies (a few muscles likely off; it may be too wide), but here’s my first progress pic.
(I used @skeletaldrawing ‘s awesome Lythronax skeletal as a side reference here)
#paleoart
The virgin Tyrannosaurids: Some were big and bulky, some were slender and fast, but overall the same concept.
The chad Spinosaurids:
The Genosaurer remains my favorite Zoid of the Tyrannosaurids. Great color scheme and really sleek design.
The Geno is just one of 12 designs you can get as a sticker or Acrylic Stand by backing my Kickstarter - only 56 hours left!! https://t.co/3X5mi6vn7I
Question: Where did the trend for large scutes on the maxilla of tyrannosaurids come from? Wondering if there's any anatomical evidence for it as I complete this piece #SciArt
#Thanatotheristes degrootorum #Tyrannosauridae
#タナトテリステス #ティラノサウルス科
I painted it in a pattern reminiscent of the Reaper.
死神をイメージしたカラーリングにしてみた。
たまにはこういう黒化個体みたいなのもアリかな。
2017 Dromaeosaurid and winter plumage Tyrannosaurid ink drawing colored with pencil.
Some anonymous (pick yourself?) medium-sized tyrannosaurids depicted with feathering on a high hill in the morning: #digitalart
Partial skeleton of a young tyrannosaurid (possibly Tarbosaurus).
WIP. Alioramus altai, one of my favorite tyrannosaurids. That long snout and streamlined overall look of the skull makes it a very elegant, agile tyrannosaur. I still need to add more details. If I remake my poster of #Tyrannosauroids, this one will be in it. #paleoart #sciart
@CurrieMuseum Why are you distorted my picture vertically so much? There is a square version with my olorotitans and Kundur tyrannosaurids. You might ask.

@arvalis @GreyGriffon You obviously know more about tyrannosaurid anatomy than just about every paleoartist, but I think it's worth noting his sketch doesn't follow the skeletal exactly. Wouldn't things like how exactly the back, tail & torso look vary considerably from individual to individual?
