Arizonasaurus doodle, after spending so many years drawing dinosaurs it felt strange drawing a plantigrade bipedal archosaur 😂😅
So this animal wasn't a dinosaur, it belonged to a group known as ctenosauriscidae .
I created this tree to explain the different hypotheses of the phylogenetic relationships among avemetatarsalian archosaurs, in particular dinosaurs. I explain which ones I follow in my book and point out alternative hypotheses. #paleoart #sciart #dinosaurs
#FossilFriday musings related to my current research. In living archosaurs epiphyseal cartilages can extend limb bone length from between less than 1% to more than 10%! This has big implications for our modelling of joint kinematics and how we interpet plausible ranges of motion.

Among the most bizarre and amazing Triassic reptiles were the Erythrosuchids, a group of basal #archosauriforms that possessed disproportionately huge heads. Here I have depicted Erythrosuchus (the greenish one) and Garjainia (the smaller one and B&W sketch) #paleoart #sciart
@MetTiinA I like this one from a 2015 paper by Allen et. al. It's not applicable everywhere, especially because of how weird croc coracoids are and due to taxa-specific discrete differences in orgins/insertions, but I think it's one of the best references for the major groups in Archosaurs
Tests for #arknights OC. Just a big archosaur lady that has a big warhammer and shield 😌
#PortfolioDay apparently, here's some of my art!

Tanystropheids are another group of amazing early #archosauromorphs that lived exclusively during the Triassic. They came in long-necked and SUPER long-necked forms. Most were terrestrial but at least one taxon was marine. Illustrations from my in-prep book #Paleoart #sciart

Outside is chill but inside is a mess, can't express his emotion. But he's still a nice, kind person.
@LWhittierArt They're fantastic animals, but obsessed with them tbh 😅 I'm Archosaurartist on Instagram and Facebook
