I love combat in DnD so much. Dragons are cool, trolls are fun, Beholders are horrifying, but there's no combat that I enjoy as much as the incredible GELATENIOUS CUBE.

Beholders are nuts! One thing I like is since they have reality warping powers even them THINKING of certain things can creates other beholders. If they start thinking of dying from blood loss they create a Death Kiss. If they think too much about death they become Death Tyrants.
