I expect struggles that i can seriously feel sympathetic towards rather than using something as contrived as someone being anxious as a characteristic and motivation. Kawaki's story is bittersweet as you see him soften up while knowing what's to come. That's development

8 Jul 1763 General Jeffrey Amherst, commander of British forces in North America, wrote to one of his colonels asking: "Could it not be contrived to send the small pox among the disaffected tribes of Indians? We must [...] reduce them". Learn more: https://t.co/A9vnFS2TLE

Scifi author Michael McCollum wrote about similar habitats floating in Saturns atmosphere. Saturn instead of Venus for a contrived reason used to advance a dramatic plot.

Shhhhh, I can't let them know that the metaplot of the setting of is just a prolonged and contrived specieswide mommy-dommed forcedfeminization plot...

And that I made for the corruption/tf plots.

Hey while I'm skewering 2000s anime - Chobits hangs its whole dramatic tension on impossibly contrived shitty HID design.

That being said, I was also worried that “the Dimanche chefs’ cooking + her grandmother’s recipe notes and scent” would be too contrived!

This had been my plan from the start, but I still asked my editor “Is this alright?? Are you sure????”

End of The New War, November 2020:

1. The Lotus dies

Me: Finally. I never really liked her.

2. The Sentients leave/killed off

Me: They're gonna come back in some contrived plot twist or appear in some new out-of-Star Chart open world zone. Watch.

3. Ordis dies

What a waste

it would be

after four billion years

of evolution

if the dominant organism

contrived its own self-destruction!

I felt like re-reading the last couple volumes of Tsubasa Chronicle tonight, and let me just say, if there is anything more ridiculous than how contrived the plot gets, it’s how much I LOVE it! This was a series that took up half my teenage life and I think about it constantly!

The Ale-House Door (c.1790) by Henry Singleton (England, 1766–1839). Not much has changed in 225 years. [‘There is nothing which has yet been contrived by man, by which so much happiness is produced as by a good tavern or inn.’ - Samuel Johnson]

With the masks we‘ve contrived, all “truths” are being drowned out.
Thus we put on a show of understanding each other, trying to guess what the other is thinking.

The premiere showed potential even if some of the humour seemed a bit contrived, however, I look forward to seeing how the show develops
