Happy birthday to Larry Elmore, who defined what fantasy RPGs looked like to me as a youth.
So what’s so special about this #Dragonlance image of Caramon and Raistlin by Elmore?
Well, its from Dragon Mag 83 (March ‘84) and was included with the short story by @WeisMargaret “The Test of the Twins”
I believe this is the very first DL story & art!

#art A Elmore
Late night Larry Elmore submitted “Hidden Danger” years earlier to be used if Dragon ever had a “cover emergency.” Allegedly they never had one, so TSR used it for the Cover of Dragon 108 in ’86 because “it was time.”
Now you know!

I don't remember even hearing of Mystery of the Snow Pearls before, but I thought its long title would give Midjourney something to work with. Great Larry Elmore cover on the original! Can't say the machine did as well.
@ArtShareHub These are Skully, Ibuki, Levi, and Delmore! It’s hard to explain them collectively but you can visit their https://t.co/Ky89R2sHDi pages to find out more!! ✨
Few more of Larry Elmore. It’s wild how much this person inspired me as a child and pretty much to this day.
