There have been multiple gods-based stories throughout 80 years of Wonder Woman comics and it's never felt repetitive.

Even though Heroes loves to create new forms with characters that can absorb/posses others, fusion is oddly under explored.
They got Gohanks only due to a tie-in with Fusions and Vegeks I think is the only original one they came up with
