Yes I do think he's bland to SOME EXTENT, but no I don't think he's the worst character ever written.

One thing I've tried to make a point in avoiding is having hands and feet cropped out or hidden. Even to the extent of extending images to capture them if the initial generation has them hidden or out of frame. I'm not sure it's always the best idea. This is one example.
