For some reason, pre-made gesso panels are difficult to find in Korea, so I made my own with lots of sandpaper, gesso, and - that's the game-changer - a layer of clear acrylic medium on top of the sketch to seal it.

The result is smooth like glass and great for detailing!

Not at all disturbing, she is made from wood & gesso, her wig is human hair & her 'fontange' head -dress & outfit were associated with the courts of James VII & III (aka The Old Pretender).
