For me, building abstract layers responding to sound & emotion onto a canvas in a kind of gestural dance has always felt like the main event. The finished painting was always a “byproduct” of my work, a snapshot of an experience that was turning the intangible, tangible.

I enjoy art of all flavors, but in my own creative process I drift towards two styles: gestural expressionism and cal arts. I like complex concepts boiled down into simple forms — whether is a brush stroke that holds a lot of emotion or a simplified cartoonish character.
