Hello, I'm Ada and I mostly do gothic/witchy/sci-fi art 🖤
Only one grayscale, but it still counts I guess? 👉👈 thanks for hosting the artshare!

This picture for example. When you but it all in grayscale, the shading and the skin are more or less the same. There isn't too much variation in the value, so it ends up looking a bit flat.

decided to do a quick grayscale, didn't really come out the way I wanted, but the emphasis was to work on facial structure with the main character for Moonlight, Esther. Definitely need to do more of these

Left is from 2014/2015 right is from the end of 2021

Lighting makes it hard to tell but in all that time they went from a blue, emotional waterdog thing to some grayscale, equally emotional, nondescript magic thing. Conveniently for comparison, still obsessed with stars haha XD

I'm trying to make my art better with grayscale, but
it's not working out.

This is my "almost" first drawing done in Krita, lol I drew the Lady with grayscale, only later I realized that I didn't know how to color with grayscale in Krita so it ended up like this 🤡🤣

And here's a timelapse out of CSP. The uncondensed version is 32 minutes long 😬 Tried a different workflow this time and started out in grayscale, which makes it easier to get the values and lighting down earlier. Definitely something I want to play around with more!

Basically: Colorize the grayscale, fill in the white space with color, added shading details to shadows and shines, and then touch up details like sweat, steam, glows.

Next up is a grayscale, 6x9” traditional commission by me. Any character you’d like (doesn’t have to be a giant monster). OC’s with existing reference are fine! Only $75 - cheaper than my usual asking price, plus you get the comic! Only 15 left.

Hello there everyone! So stuck to my word and ended up making this a full-fledged finished piece. Wanted to practice values, so painted in grayscale, and then added color afterwards to see how it would turn out.

Tried painting with grayscale, i think i prefer shading like this than using different layers.

Experimenting: I turned on grayscale, got colors from a random color palette generator, sorted it from “darkest” to “lightest,” drew and colored this, and turned the filter off. Idk how I feel about the end results, but I am definitely trying this again. It was fun!

Estudo de Grayscale, foi divertido de fazer as escalas de cinza, mas foi complicado colorir, porque cores mais claras ficavam muito estranhas, então fiz com cores mais escuras e bem saturadas.
