I've also lowered the contrast of the blue ramp and I've shifted the hues, including the pure white, to create a better sense of lighting temperature (.png attached, hope that helped!)

Walker thing. For a global palette I suspect 16 colours falls short if colourful, because it'll be hard to do subtle backgrounds. I suppose one could rely on flats more, but it might look garish overall. It's probably more effective to restrict hues, mute, except for a few pops.
