So strange. They made the baffling creative choice to go with a hyper-realistic animation style, which makes the dramatic wide shots look great, but all the musical numbers in this SONG movie are visually dull and the penguins' beaks are a horror to look upon.

i honestly adore the hyper-realism pixel art done for the original monkey island. i know that they went for a more cartoony style later on, and i can respect that. but i loveeee the talent that goes into making realism look beautiful in PIXELS.

There is a lot of variety if you look for.

The 90's was the stagnant artistic decade (And that's debatable), currently you can encounter stuff from hyper-realism to cartoon both in Marvel and DC.
