Mura and Kazu both legitmately have "incomplete" eyes on purpose.
Mura lost the colored irises of his eyes when becoming an Isdol, in a way losing part of the window into his true self.
Kazu lost her black pupils, with the white remaining as a "hollow" reminder of her deal.

Fun fact, Merice does actually have irises+pupils, his eyes are just glowy+very light and blend in with the glow (not uncommon for Ancients)
It’s a little easier to tell this in darker lighting

Fun fact
These images were one of the inspirations for may's original design from 2014. the other was Scott Calico's character Tevy
I scrapped the pink nose/inner ears to make her easier to draw.
And stuck with black irises from then on
