Oh I totally see it!
Personally, Sausage always reminded me of the Lycaenops, a creature older than the dinosaurs.
I enjoyed that they reminded me of a creature that was basically one of earth's first shots at a mammal-ish creature!

Wigglytuff always felt a little superfluous to me, and I think the franchise itself feels the same way since you almost never see it compared to Jigglypuff. Still very cute, a bit more "realistic" of a weird little mammal creature. Good but not really for me. 6/10.
