The new Darkhawk by Kyle Higgins felt both modern and very nineties. Like, the issue is straight-up structured like a Spider-Girl origin or smth but is written like other modern comicbooks. Also, big Radiant Black vibes.

More photos taken loitering round Mario's Mannequin's in the early Nineties. At some point, I switched to Kodak Tri-X 400 b&w film, as I dug the sharp contrast.

Danger in the Lead with a reprint of "Cerebro's X-Men", six artificially spawned Mutants created by the Cerebro A.I. back in the nineties.

The closest we can get to a topical football post! Part of a poster set for the from the late nineties about how Britain was changing. Done for a government who supported football, the arts, culture, etc rather than criticised it…

That first one was part of my editorial portfolio, and the second was just a class exercise, but here’s one of my mid-nineties attempts at a children’s book piece, some five years before I’d break into that industry.

You probably know that Samsung now has a waifu character.

But did you know that in the nineties Samsung also had a waifu character named Lin, in the MS-DOS game Astrocounter of Crescents, which they published exclusively in South Korea?

I've got Phantom 2040 for research, and while it's very definitely a "kid's show of the nineties", it's full of clever little details that hint at the broader dystopia.

Like that zoos are full of frozen tissue samples of "unnecessary" extinct animals, according to the tour guide

forgot to post this, lil bit of a style-test/anime ending emulation goofum that i did a while back. mostly wanted to mess with some subtle chromatic aberration paired with a bit of static to get that Late Nineties Anime Feel. idk if i got there, but i still like it!
