I used my favourite Roman Szmal watercolours for this painting. A limited palette of Gold Ochre, Cobalt Cerulean, Pyrrole Scarlet and a touch of Paynes Grey.

Final touches today to this small landscape (10 x 12 inches) Low sun in winter really brings out the colours in the field stubble and vegetation. It’s the warm ochres and violets that attract me. Warm colours in cold weather. How does that work?!
