"An owl once lived in a hollow tree
And he was as wise as wise could be,
The branch of learning he didn't know,
Could scarce on the tree of knowledge grow
He knew the tree from branch to root,
And an owl like that can afford to hoot"~Oliver Herfold

I think we all have days when we can empathize with dear, anxious Owl, whom Arnold Lobel created in the 1970s. Lovable, nervous Owl is beloved to this very day ❤️#OwlishMonday

How graceful is this Voysey owl? Almost impossibly lovely, especially when my eye takes in those tubby acorns. A Voysey squirrel cannot be far away!

“A serious writer is not to be confounded with a solemn writer. A serious writer may be a hawk or a buzzard or even a popinjay, but a solemn writer is always a bloomin' owl."

I'm not sure all this attention from the doves is actually entirely welcome when an owl or three are settling down on a convenient branch for a snooze. But I love the trio of owls tucked up together.
