I think Japony and Neighpon are derived from Japan and Nippon respectively.
Nippon is the Japanese name for our country, meaning the place where the sun rises.
(It is also the name of the "Princess Rising Sun" that Poniko (the mascot of Japan Ponycon) transforms into.)

Before Deep Dreams there was Yume Tori, a
parody YNFG where you play as a Toriningen & a knife-wielding Madotsuki is the chaser. I didn't get much done before placing it on hiatus, but here's a remake of the Pink Sea and Poniko's room. Eventually I'd like to return to it.
