You should’ve expected this one. If PPPPPP is a breath of fresh air in shounen jump then Akane Banashi is a tornado. Everything about this manga is made out of an authentic love for Rakugo that makes it an exhilarating read.
These are two performance arts manga right now that I like so much: Show-Ha Shoten (manga about manzai/Japanese comedy show) and Akane-Banashi (manga about rakugo/Japanse traditional story-telling). I want them to be anime! Everyone, give them a try!

Did not expect to like this as much as I did, I'm actually really interested in Rakugo now lol. I think this series has a very long and bright future ahead of it I can't wait to see where it goes!

God this season was heat. Yakumo is such a baffcore character. Him being the shinigami for his close ones is so heartbreaking to see. Telling a story through the rakugo performances is a very unique concept I've never seen before.

Btw I’ve been really enjoying Akane-Banashi
New Rakugo manga (26 chs atm) written like a competitive sports manga but for rakugo.
Plus it deals with performing rakugo like Act Age dealt with acting. If you’ve missed a competitive performing arts manga I highly recommend it.
If I had a dollar for every anime/manga about rakugo that kicked ass I would have three dollars. That's not a lot, but it just shows how much this genre kicks ass.

320. Akane-Banashi (Story 25-Al día)
La relación entre como cuentan las historias de Rakugo y como cuentan la misma historia es una locura. Estoy al día y ojalá no, quiero más.
Pocas historias me hacen rootear tanto por un personaje, quiero que a Akane le vaya todo bien asdf.
16.- Akane-bashi.
Una historia sobre rakugo de lo más entretenida y con ritmazo. Akane quiere convertirse en rakugoka para «vengar» a su padre, que fue expulsado por su maestro tras una competición. El dibujo y las expresiones son muy buenos, ojito a la carismática protagonista.
No wait I take that back how I could I forget Rakugo Shinjuu!! Definitely on par with MPD100 and still one of the best anime I've seen in a long time
