“The Kid Who Ran For President” was rejected by a publisher, and it went on to sell a million copies. “Honus & Me” was rejected by 10 publishers, and it led to a 12 book series. But do you know which of my books got rejected more than any other? This one. 20 rejections!

That makes me feel way better about my own rejections, but tells me how far I've got to go if those are getting turned down!

If anybody cares. I’m working on an album for my music called seven evil rejections. Here’s the album cover I drew. It’s based off Scott pilgrim of course 🤷🏾‍♂️

Broke, looking for regular and steady work but I'm getting nothing but rejections. Need money and drawing is the only thing I'm good at...in other words commissions are open. 10 slots no backgrounds. Contract me at shanerodriguezillustration.com

Of course. There's always the thought that I should completely disregard social media and just focus on trying to get work published somewhere.

It's possible I'm just using sm as a crutch to avoid the slew of rejections I'll likely face, haha.

It's hard not to take rejections personally, but try to remember that a rejection of your story is NOT a rejection of you as a person, or as a writer/illustrator. Best-selling author has great advice: https://t.co/ARQGU1LNPu

I call mine the "Not what I'm looking for, but still cute though." Named after the countless rejections from people when I try to advertise my work to them in group chats when they announce that they look for an artist to draw them something.

To those discouraged by rejections: PERSEVERE. I received rejections for yrs before getting noticed in industry. Drove me crazy when some called me an overnight success. Keep working; you'll be ready to make the most of the opportunity *when* lightning hits.

This year has been a rollercoaster of emotions; college, love and rejections, overthinking, ect. I really want to leave it all in the past and get crunk tonight with my family and friends looking towards the future. I love all my friends online they’ve been such a support 💕

I feel like this year has been really big for me in terms of my artwork. Even though I had a lot of down moments and rejections I feel like I am finally finding my voice and confidence in my work. Looking forward to 2020!

I got rejected by a big gaming company but I’m not sad about it.

I took a chance and shot my shot. I’m happy that they even bothered to look at my resume tbh.

I’ll take a hundred rejections than one ‘what if’
