Silurian period: hey I got a great idea for an open-water predator that specializes in eating fish

Triassic period: what if it was a reptile

Paleogene period: what if it was a cow

While I love series 5’s alternative Silurian design, I always kinda assumed it wouldn’t work with Vastra. I’ve changed my mind. (The design we got has still grown on me...)

Well, there's this design of the Sea Devils in the 12th Doctor comics. They somehow look worse than any other NewWho redesign, I'll gladly take the Silurians after seeing this.

Today is the 50th anniversary of episode 1 of The Silurians, first broadcast on 31 January 1970. If you're giving the story a commemorative rewatch, the latest is the companion you need.

Progress made on my series Deep Time Dramas! Working to combine and expression. Plenty more to go on these (including actually adding animals ofc)
1. The Devonian - love, connectivity
2. The Ordovician/Silurian Extinction - indecision, separation

Spending this working on the last few pages of text for LTTAII, including the last page describing a scene of fossil animals. This honour goes to a Silurian marine scene that which I painted for 's thesis. Agnathans and early gnathostomes FTW!

Pterygotus was a gigantic arthropod that could grow to 2.3 metres long! They lived during the early Silurian-Devonian period. They had a pair of large eyes & a smaller pair in the centre of their head.
