Today's piece is an immature male American Redstart preening. Males of this species spend a whole year in female-like plumage before getting the adult black and orange colors - except for a few black speckles on the head.

I would adore to get bat villagers in a future animal crossing game, they would fit right in. Maybe they can be some villagers that stay up late.
Maybe I'll design some other animals I want to become villagers!

Not a good cat. Former deputy. Attacked by a badger as a young apprentice, hence the scars. He abused Foxpaw, his apprentice, as well as his sister, Graypaw. Tried to kill Specklestar multiple times by forcing Foxpaw to use his powers, but is eventually banished.

thought id mention the way i draw speckles/spots/stars lately

step 1. start w base color
step 2. draw a couple big dots
step 3. draw smaller dots around those dots
step 4. (opt) draw even smaller dots to fill in space (mostly if I'm drawing stars)

Castilla is based off a Python, Mellec is Pit Viper based.
