I always will prefer Takahata's WMT anime rather than his movies, they are excellent too, but they just don't rub me the right way with characterisation, since I saw Anne my expectations are too high I guess. Heartbreaking anti-war movie but my problem remains

Speaking of Anne of the Green Gables, ive been loving every second of it. Outside the gorgeous backgrounds, Takahata made a huge push for more realistic character acting to fit in the world of Anne. Pay close attention to Matthew's face expressions and body language.
