The ones afab tend to have a curl in their tail's hair, along with more floof at their ankles while amab ones (one, considering I only really deaw MT) lack these!

I think it was who mentioned this a bit back, but nelfs are one of the few races in WoW that feel like an actual society all on their own. There's no one-note stereotype of a night elf in the way a tauren or a gnome gets treated, just by nature of their diversity.
