Explaining to someone I don't use noise but Copic Marker Textures on soft light, hard light, overlay, and lighten blending modes for a more natural looking texture noise.

I do notice a lot of these Sketch Brushes over at CSP or sketch brushes other people use definitely have a texture sometimes
Me, my sketch brush tends to be just lower opacity with some softness... I should try with texture sometime

This look much better than when I draw on the computer. I guess its because of the pressure curve or the pen texture that’s different.

Texture and Noise:
Sometimes, you can just spice your designs with some noise and texture in your gradients to create a form of visual interest and depth.
However, it highly depends on what the theme of the design is.

had to tweak the skin a little since it was just my player head pasted into a random maid texture, might still need to tweak it a bit further, but i wanna try making custom armor/outfits next instead.

at this point, you might want to process the line art a bit.
Idk what tool Kaneko used for the lineart in this era, but it's super textured and "fades" when you put low pressure, like a real pencil.
Interestingly enough, his modern art style would ditch the textured pen(?)
how I do the kaneko-shiraishi style coloring (especially their raidou era art style)
1. Prepare line art with rough textured pen. I used a pencil tool
2. Color in base. Idk I think Kaneko often starts from dark->light, but I too used with light->dark coloring.
I think my biggest hurdle is with the lineart.
With that kind of textured linework, some colors gets to bleed out the lineart and it became visible on dark background
dunno how they deal with that
