1827年、ドイツの作曲家・ピアニストのルートヴィヒ・ヴァン・ベートーヴェン（日本では楽聖忌と呼ばれている）がオーストリア帝国の首都ウィーンの自宅で亡くなりました。

肝硬変のため56歳で死去。 葬儀には2万人もの人々が参列しました。
