四)任薰(1835-1893)字舜琴、又字阜長，其父任椿，兄任熊都是畫家，少喪父，從兄學畫，青年時在寧波賣畫為生，1868年與任頤去蘇州，後寓居蘇州、上海。任頤、任預均從其習畫，與其兄同師陳洪綬，常用高古游絲、鐵線、行雲流水、蘭葉幾種描法。與任熊、任頤、合任預為“四任”，並為海上畫派代表畫家之一。
