Growing up in the 70s, by far the most exciting books in the library were the series. Great stories, full colour comic strips, historical reference & excellent drawings by a massive influence without me even knowing!

Rest in Peace Uderzo, thanks for all the joy and fun. I still sing the poison potion song from Asterix and Cleopatra when I cook. You also introduced me to Borge Ring, my favourite animator. Hope you and Goscinny create new stuff in heaven. And punch Cesar in the face for us. <3

RIP Albert Uderzo. As a child I much preferred clear-lined Tintin to Asterix; only in adulthood did I appreciate the utter genius of his creators Goscinny & Uderzo. They and their translators are now at the start of almost every language learning journey I make.

Saddened to here that co-creator & illustrator of has passed away. met writer & editor René Goscinny in 1951, collaborating on many projects together. In 1959 they introduced Asterix to the world. Loved the reading the books when I was younger. RIP ✏

Asterix was my first introduction to the ancient world and Roman history. In my mind’s eye when I see Caesar, he still has a little of Albert Uderzo’s design. They were some of my most beloved reads as a child - not just as comics, but in general. Read all I could find. RIP.
