also not related to gradient maps at all but the background is literally on top of the line art. i find this method a lot more tedious but if you have messy line art like me and dont have to make a complex bg it really cleans up your piece in the end

Simple Commissions will have a background that's a gradient, texture, solid color, or even transparent if you wished!

Complex Commissions will have a landscape or an abstract background with heavier details.
